Chocolate Cherry Cake Donuts

When your coffee needs a sweet little companion, stir up a batch of these super simple moist and chewy Chocolate Cherry Cake Donuts with Milk Chocolate Glaze. These little cuties are at their best the day you bake them, so treat yourself soon after you glaze them. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Brownie Mix
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup dried cherries, snipped
  • 2 teaspoons almond extract
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon corn syrup
  • 4 ounces milk chocolate chips
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Spray a donut baking pan with baking spray.
  3. Stir together brownie mix, egg, melted butter, 3/4 cup milk, snipped dried cherries and 2 teaspoons almond extract.
  4. Use a small cookie scoop to scoop donut batter into donut pan. Bake for about 11 minutes, or just until toothpick inserted in center of a donut comes out clean. Let col briefly and invert on cooling rack. Repeat with remaining batter, making sure to clean pan before baking a fresh batch.
  5. n a medium saucepan, heat 1/2 cup butter, 1/4 cup milk and corn syrup, whisking until melted.
  6. Add chocolate chips and remove from heat. Whisk until combined, then whisk in powdered sugar until smooth.
  7. Transfer some Milk Chocolate Glaze to a small bowl and dip cooled Chocolate Cherry Cake Donuts into glaze to cover.
