Pretzel Roll Picnic Sandwiches to Love

Just in time to celebrate picnic season, we're serving up Pretzel Roll Picnic Sandwiches to Love~ Fluffy Mustard Sauce slathered on a pretzel roll topped with thinly sliced honey ham and smoked Gouda topped with homemade Poppyseed Slaw. Yum-o!

Ingredients

  • 6 pretzel rolls
  • 2 beaten egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon horseradish
  • 1 cup Cool Whip
  • 1/2 pound thinly sliced honey ham
  • 12 slices smoked Gouda cheese
  • 14 ounce bag coleslaw cabbage mix
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon poppyseeds

Instructions

Make the Fluffy Mustard Sauce~

  1. Combine egg yolks, mustard, vinegar, water and butter in the top of a double boiler with water simmering underneath and cook until thickened, stirring occasionally.
  2. Cool and fold in horseradish and Cool Whip.

Make the Poppyseed Slaw~

  1. Whisk together sour cream, rice wine vinegar, sugar and poppyseeds.
  2. Toss dressing with cabbage.

To assemble~

  1. Spread Fluffy Mustard Sauce over insides of pretzel rolls and lay out on work surface.
  2. Layer gam and Gouda over heels of pretzel buns.
  3. Top with Poppyseed Slaw and a pretzel crown.
  4. Slice in half.
